Hi, Michelle. This is a good question. Retinoids are a family of products that are similar in nature to vitamin A. Some of them, Retin A (=retinoic acid) and Differin (adapalene) were proven to be effective on acne. Other retinol (Including retinol serums, were NOT proven to have beneficial effects on acne). Thus, if you are looking to improve your acne faster I would stick with proven anti-acne ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, etc. Please check out your personal routine on the app for specific product suggestions.
