Q&A
Is it common to have acne while on the implant Nexplanon?
Acne is definitely one of the known side effects of the Nexplanon. Typically, this acne is mild and can be controlled by starting and committing to a good topical anti-acne treatment system for your skin. If, after 2-3 months of topical treatments, you do not see sufficient improvement, you may need to consider removal of the implant and switching to another contraceptive option. We recommend that you take a look at this list of the best birth controls for acne as well as those you should stay away from if you want to avoid breakouts 🙂.
