Hi. The main problem I see with Curology is the low efficacy ingredients they use. According to their website they are using a mix of the following ingredients: Tretinoin, Niacinamide, Vitamin C, Zinc Pyrithione, Clindamycin, Azelaic acid. The first 4 are available over the counter. Clindamycin which is a topical antibiotic is rarely prescribed today due to its low efficacy and bacterial resistance. Azelaic acid has significantly lower efficacy on the acne than benzoyl peroxide that can be bought over the counter. I am not aware of any objective testing of the efficacy of their products. A bigger problem is the fact that its one product. Controlling acne is based on combination therapy. They do not provide the needed cleanser, the morning moisturizer or any guidance on makeup and diet. Lastly, and the most important point. Acne success is based on skin tracking and commitment. Sending a picture once in a while is usually not enough to produce long-term results.
