Key Ingredients

Micronized Salicylic Acid 0.5%
Our proprietary, soluble salicylic acid (MDclear™ SalAc) was specifically formulated to provide the highest anti-acne efficacy while minimizing skin irritation. Originally derived from the bark and leaves of the willow tree, it has now been reformulated to a micronized medication, making it a highly effective yet gentle medicated ingredient for sensitive, acne-prone skin.

Treatment Boosters

A potent antioxidant that prevents and helps fade brown spots.

🌱 Aloe Vera Leaf Extract
Powerful antioxidant that hydrates and soothes the skin.

🥜 Vitamin E
Prevents free-radical skin damage and protects the skin's natural barrier.

Your questions, answered

What is the MDacne Hydrating Cleanser and how does it work?

MDacne Hydrating Cleanser is a daily medicated face wash with micronized salicylic acid 0.5%. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, so it gets into the pore and loosens the plug that leads to blackheads and whiteheads. Aloe, green tea, and vitamin E keep the wash from stripping your skin.

Is MDacne Hydrating Cleanser better than a regular acne face wash?

MDacne Hydrating Cleanser pairs a micronized, more soluble form of salicylic acid 0.5% with aloe and antioxidant boosters, so it unclogs pores while protecting your barrier. Most acne washes clear oil but leave skin tight and irritated, which is why people abandon them. Best for dry or over-treated skin.

MDacne Hydrating Cleanser or a stronger medicated salicylic acid cleanser?

MDacne Hydrating Cleanser is already medicated at 0.5% micronized salicylic acid and is best for dry, tight, or easily irritated acne-prone skin, including teens starting a routine. Higher-strength cleansers suit very oily skin with heavy blackheads, but they dry many people out.

How long until MDacne Hydrating Cleanser makes a visible difference?

MDacne Hydrating Cleanser usually makes skin feel less oily within days, while fewer blackheads and whiteheads take four to six weeks of twice-daily use. A cleanser alone rarely clears moderate acne, so treat MDacne Hydrating Cleanser as the first step alongside a treatment cream.

How do you use the MDacne Hydrating Cleanser morning and evening?

MDacne Hydrating Cleanser is used morning and evening: wet your face with tepid water, then massage the cleanser in with clean hands for twenty to thirty seconds. Rinse well and pat dry with a clean towel rather than rubbing, then apply your MDacne treatment cream.

Is the MDacne Hydrating Cleanser safe for sensitive skin?

MDacne Hydrating Cleanser is formulated for sensitive, acne-prone skin and is paraben-free, phthalate-free, and vegan. Some people feel mild tightness in the first week; if that happens, cleanse once daily at night and moisturize afterwards. Avoid it on broken or actively peeling skin.

The cleanser smells and feels like…
The cleanser smells and feels like shampoo. i’ve only used it a couple times and i don’t feel a difference after i use it like it doesn’t make my face feel clean. The moisturizer feels nice but it still makes my face feel after oily a little bit and the acne treatment just doesn’t work for my face at least. Maybe my acne is just too severe for these products but i don’t know i’m just gonna stick with CeraVe for now.

Great experience so far.
The facial cleanser has a nice scent. I have been using it religiously for about two weeks now and I am already noticing a big change. New acnes are not breaking out and the old ones are healing. Though the spots are still there but it's still too early to tell if they will eventually clear out, I guess.
